THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN= SATURDAY 21st FEBRUARY 2015 = The Crazy World of Arthur Brown celebrates 45 years of the massive worldwide hit FIRE with a brand new live show including the legendary fire helmet and rock n roll theatricals. Arthur Brown first came to prominence in swinging London in 1967, after spending some time on the Paris underground scene Arthur was quickly signed to Track Records at the instruction of The Who’s Pete Townshend and released the single Devils Grip, regarded by some as the record that gave the birth of Heavy Metal. Arthur is best thought of for his 1968 Number one single Fire that still gets regular airplay all over the world and has been covered by the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Die Krupps, The Prodigy and The Who. Arthur’s next band Kingdom Come performed as the main act at the first filmed Glastonbury Festival in 1971 and in 1973 Kingdome Come was the first band to release an album using a Drum Machine. Artists such as Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper and Bruce Dickenson site Arthur Brown their biggest influence and in this Arthur’s fifth decade in music the fire is far from out. Arthur’s most recent album Voices Of Love had major critical acclaim and Arthur received the Classic Rock magazine showman of the year award. New Album ‘Zim Zam Zim’ is out now following a successful pledge campaign that has shown incredible support for The God Of Hellfire 45 years after the release of his first hit single. Tracks from the album are being toured in 2014 / 2015 across the UK and Europe, alongside demonstrations of a new pioneering technology – a thought control helmet that enables Arthur to creat music with the power of his mind! GRETCHEN PETERS= TUESDAY 24th MARCH 2015 = Since the release of her “career album” (NPR), 2012’s Hello Cruel World, two-time Grammy nominee Gretchen Peters has been in near-constant motion, touring for the past two years and releasing a live DVD and CD, Woman On The Wheel, in early 2013. Since 2012 she’s appeared at the Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Cambridge Folk Festivals; and in addition to headlining her own sold-out tours, she’s supported country and folk legends Guy Clark, Arlo Guthrie and John Prine (duetting with the latter at several shows). The latest accolade for the Nashville-based singer-songwriter will be her induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in October 2014. There she’ll join the list of 192 existing inductees which includes Johnny Cash, Rodney Crowell, Don & Phil Everly, Woody Guthrie, Merle Haggard, Tom T. Hall, Harlan Howard, Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, Jimmy Webb and Hank Williams. Peters has risen to the top of her craft by writing and recording songs that explore the deep corners of life with empathy and integrity. She has accumulated accolades as a songwriter for artists as diverse as Etta James, Bonnie Raitt, The Neville Brothers, Patty Loveless, George Strait, Bryan Adams and Faith Hill. Of her own recordings, the Associated Press said, “this is not jukebox music – the stuff that exists to fill in the pauses in conversation. This IS the conversation.” Her own peers may be her biggest fans, though; Rodney Crowell (her duet partner on Hello Cruel World) called the record “beautiful, brave and poetic”, while her frequent collaborator Tom Russell, called it “the best record I’ve heard in many, many years.” A recent review of her 2013 “Woman On The Wheel” UK tour called her live performance “glorious, uplifting, heart-rendingly beautiful… an affirmation of positive human experience through endured pain.” Her much-anticipated new album, Blackbirds, is due in early 2015.
