I think I would call myself an art lover, but I must confess that I could no more create a painting or portrait than I could swim the English Channel. That’s why I find the whole process so fascinating and mysterious. If like me, you are keen to see how talented artists create a portrait from a blank canvas to a finished work of art, then get yourself along to St. Paul’s Worthing on Friday March 23rd.
November 2017 saw the first of a series of “Interview Concerts at St.Paul’s” where renowned international musicians gave a rapt audience the chance to listen to live classical music as it should be performed. Wonderful music played in the round by extremely talented musicians with verve, ease and precision.
On Saturday March 17th, the beating heart of Ireland comes to St. Paul’s Worthing. Local Legends Flash Company return after a four year hiatus with their famously boisterous, St. Patricks Day Party. As always there will be music, dancing, quips and asides and the odd glass or two taken. What is more, it is all in aid of a fantastic local charity.
Jacob Aaron has for several years given us his unique take on contemporary RnB, with thoughtful, insightful lyrics and a song-writing talent that has seen his tracks appear regularly on BBC Introducing the South. Looking to expand that sound Jacob has put together a band which sets itself outside any style or label, with the addition of “black-metal” guitarist David Lovejoy, rock drummer Jordan Birchall and funk bass player Isaiah Brown all melded into Jacob’s RnB mix.
Vektrill, a power trio from Worthing have started to make real inroads into the local and national music scene including storming gigs at “The Haunt” in Brighton and “The Borderline” in London. Conceived in early 2016, the band has been gigging extensively and already have a couple of videos under their belt.
TEAL like many bands over the years evolved from youthful attempts at forming a band at school. The band finally coalescing in the summer of 2015 around Ryan, Alex, Louis and Charlie, with a clear direction and a love of the indie music industry at the time, as well as older generations of music which would inspire them to reach their sound.
Coming soon to our amazing venue!
We wondered how we could top our bill of fare for February, but we think we may well have done it. March is looking even better, with a wider than ever variety of shows and events, is it any wonder we are fast becoming Worthing’s leading arts and music venue.
My Pet Shark grew from the long term desire of guitarist Nathan Marshall to found a band around that name. Nathan was joined in the summer of 2014 by bassist Liam Toller and shortly after by drummer Joe Miles. In early 2015, three became four with the arrival of lyricist and lead singer Drake Mague.
Coming Soon at our amazing venue!
We have a fantastic variety of events already in the diary for February, is it any wonder we are fast becoming Worthing’s leading arts and music venue.
It would be so easy to write off tribute bands as simple copyists, cashing in on another bands talent to make a living. However, anyone at St. Paul’s last night would tell you a different story. There are a few tribute bands which share the energy, passion and talent of the original band, acts like the Australian Pink Floyd, The Musical Box (Genesis) or the Counterfeit Stones are the closest thing to seeing the real thing. Speak and Spell are well and truly in that category and having seen Depeche Mode myself they are as close to the real thing as you can get.
After last January’s sell out gig at St Paul’s and a performance at Glastonbury festival in the summer, SPEAK AND SPELL, Europe’s leading Depeche Mode tribute band, bring their explosive show back to St Paul’s on Saturday the 27th of January.
On January 27th Europe’s leading Depeche Mode tribute band SPEAK AND SPELL return to St Paul’s Worthing looking to repeat last year’s incredible SOLD OUT show, bringing their amazing sound and light show back to this fantastic venue.

The obvious reference is to the Copper family, those stalwarts of the East Sussex scene who have been so influential to so many with their […]
